Aspire Analyst Internship
Position Summary
The Aspire Analyst Internship offers students an immersive experience at the intersection of finance, analytics, and impact. Interns will contribute directly to Redwood Trust’s mission of providing liquidity to underserved segments of the housing market. Through hands-on exposure to trading, credit investing, and data analytics, interns will gain valuable insights into the operations of one of the nation’s leading mortgage REITs. This role provides a unique opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, build analytical and financial modeling skills, and make meaningful contributions to real-world projects in housing finance.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Support the Capital Markets team in analyzing mortgage-backed securities, structured products, and portfolio performance.
- Assist in developing financial models to evaluate credit investments and risk-return profiles.
- Monitor real-time market data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Prioritize Tasks: List the most critical tasks first. Order can signal the importance of each duty.
- Contribute to research projects focused on housing finance, mortgage credit, and capital markets strategies.
- Prepare presentations and materials for internal meetings with senior leadership.
- Collaborate with team members across departments in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Required Experience, Skills, & Competencies
Education and Background:
- Current undergraduates (rising junior or senior) pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL, or Bloomberg Terminal) preferred.
- Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings clearly.

Other Requirements
- Available for full-time participation during the summer program (June–August 2026).
- In-office presence required 4 to 5 days a week depending on location and project needs.
A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $27/hr.
