State Systems Consultant

POSITION OPENING: State Systems of Support Educational Improvement Consultant

IN THIS ROLE: 

Are you a self-motivated educational improvement leader looking to apply your experience and knowledge to supporting schools identified in the State System of Support?

We're seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader with strong communication, coaching, analytical, research, and reporting/presentation skills to advance continuous improvement and coordinate services from Oakland Schools and grant oversight for schools identified for State Systems of Support (SSOS). In this role, you'll provide leadership, professional learning, consulting, resource development, and technical assistance to the local school districts, public school academies, and community partners in Oakland County.

This impactful position is funded through the State Systems of Support Grant and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference at both the school and community level.

 

As this position is grant-funded, continuation is contingent upon grant funds.

WHAT WE NEED: 

  • Provide leadership and support to local districts, educators, community partners, and families in Continuous Improvement and SSOS in Oakland County.
  • Manage the contracts, assignments, and services provided to State Identified Schools.
  • Lead local, regional, and statewide projects/initiatives in service of local districts, educators, community partners, and families.
  • Provide support to Partnership and CSI/ATS/TSI schools as assigned.
  • Respond to a variety of data and information requests.
  • Establish and monitor program processes and procedures that support implementation, monitoring and evaluation of services provided through the SSOS and ensure compliance of state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current research, leading edge developments and legal mandates for identified schools as identified by the Michigan Department of Education.
  • Work with assigned team to identify, design, manage, evaluate and assess products and services which are designed to support increased student achievement in identified schools/districts.
  • Serve as a resource to Oakland Schools’ staff, local school personnel, government and community agencies, professional organizations and others.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental strategic/operational plans, programs, systems, standard operating procedures, technologies, and recordkeeping practices.
  • Manage and/or oversee maintenance of program records, databases and electronic tools and resources.
  • Provide technical assistance to local districts, educators, community partners, and families on federal legislation/ regulations and state mandates regarding SSOS.
  • Serve as a liaison to external agencies such as the Michigan Department of Education, universities, and professional organizations in Continuous Improvement and State Systems of Support. professional organizations, and community-based agencies.

 

WHAT YOU NEED: 

  • Master's degree focused in education. Doctorate degree preferred.
  • 3 or more years of related experience working in or supporting schools identified in the State System of Support (CSI/ATS/TSI).
  • Understanding of educational systems, legal issues, policies, research, and trends in State Accountability Systems and Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience working with adult learners and facilitating groups and meetings.
  • Ability to properly utilize technology necessary in conducting professional learning and work productivity.

This position is eligible to participate in the Summer Flexible Work Program, which permits employees to perform their job duties for up to two days a week from a designated alternative location during the summer months.

 

SALARY DETAILS: 

$100,969 - $117,093 salary based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to

$126,096 after employment with Oakland Schools. Exempt position/ 12-month work year.
