Podcast Marketing and Partnerships Intern

Position: Student Intern – Marketing & Partnerships
Organization: Future Hindsight
Location: Remote, U.S. (with a focus on engaging U.S. college/university students)
Duration: Semester-based (e.g., 3-4 months; flexible start date)
Compensation: Unpaid/for-credit

About the Role

Are you a current undergraduate student looking to apply your marketing, outreach, and partnership skills in a meaningful way?

We’re seeking a proactive, creative, and independent intern to help grow awareness and listenership of Future Hindsight, particularly among university students. You’ll work closely with the host and production team to design and execute strategies that bring our podcast to new student audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement outreach campaigns aimed at college/university student communities (e.g., student organizations, campus media, Greek life, academic departments, residence halls, student radio, student papers and publications).
  • Research and identify partnership opportunities with campus organizations, student-run media (radio, newspapers, social channels), and student influencers.
  • Create engaging promotional materials (social posts, story templates, email outreach, flyers, digital assets) tailored to student audiences.
  • Manage social media scheduling and engagement related to student-targeted content (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn student groups).
  • Monitor and report on key metrics (e.g., new subscribers/listeners from campuses, engagement with student-targeted posts, partnerships initiated).
  • Brainstorm and propose new ideas for how to drive listenership among underrepresented student communities (diverse majors, first-generation students, international students).
  • Assist with coordination of “on-campus” virtual events or live streams (e.g., panel discussions, co-sponsored student events) in collaboration with campus partners, especially in the New York City area.
  • Work independently with good judgment, meet deadlines, and proactively communicate status, successes, and challenges to the team.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Undergraduate student enrolled at a U.S. college or university (any year, any major).
  • Interest in marketing, partnerships, outreach, social media, and student engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who can take initiative, think creatively, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and student culture on campus (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, X, student-groups).
  • Comfort reaching out to organizations or individuals to propose collaborations.
  • Bonus: experience with content creation (graphics, short videos, stories), basic analytics (Google Analytics, social insights), event coordination, or podcast industry interest.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world experience designing and executing marketing and partnership strategies in the podcasting space.
  • Opportunity to build relationships with student organizations and campus stakeholders.
  • Deep exposure to the production and promotional side of a topical podcast on civic life and democracy.
  • Resume-worthy project with tangible outcomes (growth metrics, campaign roll-out, student partnerships).
  • Mentorship from an experienced podcast host/producer in a dynamic, mission-oriented environment.
  • Flexible remote work that can integrate with your academic schedule.
