Environmental Lab Analyst
A top environmental lab in Naperville is looking for an analyst to work in their wastewater and wet chemistry lab performing analysis of soil and water samples using a wide variety of EPA methods. Your responsibilities would include preparing, weighing, measuring, filtering, titrating, recording, calibrating, and making other measurements. You will be working on a team with other analysts in a high through-put environment. Training on the methods and lab safety will be part of your initial experience.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in science, enjoy lab work, be able to multi-task, have an attention to detail, and be self-motivated with a focus on quality. This is a permanent full-time position with a generous benefits package.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to prepare and analyze environmental samples for a wide variety of analytical measurements. It is the responsibility of Analyst to ensure that high quality data is produced using prescribed methods and standard operating procedures, and that this data is analyzed and reported in a timely manner to meet client deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary to Perform Essential Functions:
Knowledge of basic math and simple algebra; general knowledge of computers, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Ability to work safely with laboratory equipment and chemicals; ability to understand and to follow set procedures, instructions, and safety rules; ability to learn and to accurately perform a variety of laboratory analyses; ability to understand and follow quality assurance protocols; ability to maintain accurate and legible records; ability to establish and to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public; ability to safely handle laboratory equipment, and delicate glassware and instruments; ability to read analytical results and record data.
