Through recognition programs, model practices, innovative tools, and technical assistance, we help communities build a strong civic infrastructure and address issues like environmental sustainability, racial equity, safety, public health and education in an inclusive, collaborative manner.

Description of Job

The intern will support League operations by conducting research, producing written materials, contacting other organizations and related activities. The intern will assist the League president in a research project to identify communities that have made progress in addressing critical issues through civic engagement, helping to produce written summaries of community examples, engagement processes, and outcomes in areas like education, health, public safety, equity, and trust.

 

Employment Information
This position would start in January of 2026 and pays $19.29/hour. The position is part-time, temporary, non-exempt, at-will, with no employee benefits. This work can be done virtually, though we welcome applicants from the Washington, D.C. and Denver, CO, areas who would be able to work with League staff in person. 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

At least two years of a four-year degree program completed, preferably in a field related to public policy, political science, civic engagement, or communications/marketing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have good skills in writing, copy-editing, and communication. Social media and virtual event experience are a plus.
