Database Administrator

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our company to help drive our company growth by building, enhancing, and optimizing applications that are transforming health care.  You will collaborate with and implement complex, highly available database environments partnered with various development and operations departments, committed to our client’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Design, install, configure, and maintain database systems including SQL Server, MySQL, and other platforms.
  •  Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.
  •  Perform regular backups and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
  •  Ensure database security and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Build HA and DR systems using multisite clusters and replication across geo diverse data centers.
  • Proactively monitor 24x7x365 production database environment to ensure uptime.
  • Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis, along with recommending and implementing preventive techniques.
  • Analyze SQL query plans and leverage diagnostic tools to identify performance bottlenecks and take appropriate corrective actions to improve database performance.
  •  Collaborate with development teams to support application requirements and troubleshoot issues.
  •  Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, processes, and procedures.
  •  Implement and manage database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
  •  Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure database health and performance.
  •  Provide support for reporting and data analysis needs across departments.

Required Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  •  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  •  Proficiency in SQL Server and MySQL database platforms.
  •  Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
  •  Experience with database security and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
  •  Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or MySQL Database Administrator.
  •  Familiarity with other database platforms such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.

Working Conditions

This position may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform maintenance or respond to urgent issues The Database Administrator will work closely with IT and development teams.
