A Summer Experience. A Lifetime of Value.

We’ll meet you where you are and help you go further. This summer, we’re committed to bringing early-in-career talent together, trusting you to own your work and help you level up through professional development, networking, and exposure to real-world projects.

We’re doing things that matter. Our wire and cable power our world. Join us as an intern and we’ll help you move up and around Marmon’s 120+ companies as you grow your skills.

Join the Biggest Small Business You’ll Ever Find.

Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (MIEI) works with six specialty wire, cable, and tubing solution manufacturing companies located throughout North America. We have over 100 years of innovative engineered solutions for critical, industrial, and commercial applications. As part of Marmon, you get the best of both worlds. The strength and stability that comes with being part of Berkshire Hathaway, plus the autonomy and opportunity that comes with working at one of our 120+ companies.

What You’ll Do:

As an Inside Sales Intern, you’ll work closely with our Inside Sales Department on continuous improvement initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in sales operations, data analysis, and process optimization. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while learning how sales processes drive business success.

Your primary project will focus on aligning miscellaneous (MISC) charges across Marmon IEI facilities. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team tackling a real-world business challenge — simplifying and standardizing how different facilities handle costs such as testing, engineering, lot fees, logistics, shipping materials, returns, and storage.

You will research the history of these charges, compare practices across multiple facilities, identify best practices, and help develop a standardized approach for consistent application. Your efforts will directly support improved cost visibility, streamlined operations, and better decision-making for leadership.

Through this internship, you’ll gain practical experience in business process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and inside sales operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive meaningful organizational change.

What You’ll Need:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with a focus on Business, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in both independent and team environments
  • Entering Junior year

Compensation:

  • $19-$22 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience and educational background

Work Hours/Length of Program:

  • The internship will run for 12 weeks from May to August
  • Temporary Part/Full Time, targeting 40 hours per week
  • Exact start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules and the needs of the business
  • This is a paid internship

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

This position is based in our manufacturing facility and involves general exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employees are required to follow safety guidelines and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when onsite. This position is primarily office-based and involves computer and desk work.

  • Ability to work for extended periods in a sedentary position (sitting, talking, viewing a computer screen)
  • Regular communication and coordination with team members and management
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and a physical exam are required for this role

Location:
