Media Coordinator

Summer Media Coordinator: Be the Storyteller for Green Preserve Camp!

Are you ready to spend your summer capturing the magic of the outdoors and sharing it with the world? Green Preserve is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and media-savvy individual to step into the vital role of Media Coordinator. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be the camp's primary visual storyteller, ensuring the warmth, enthusiasm, and success of our summer program are documented and celebrated daily.

What You’ll Do: The Role of the Storyteller

As the Media Coordinator, you are the eyes of Green Preserve. Your core mission is to capture the camp experience and share it with our eager community. This involves a high volume of photography—you will be shooting 300–500 high-quality photos every single day of campers, staff, activities, hikes, and the incredible scenery.

Beyond the lens, you will be our Chief Content Manager, ensuring every image finds its audience. You will efficiently upload and organize all daily camp photos for parent viewing, and you’ll drive our external communication strategy. This includes keeping all social media content engaging and current, managing one daily Facebook post (featuring 3–5 select photos), and crafting and publishing a comprehensive daily blog post with appropriate tags.

This position is also a Leadership Opportunity. You will manage and mentor a small media team, assigning daily tasks and holding members accountable for their work quality and deadlines.

Finally, you’ll produce lasting mementos, from small print materials like cabin photo postcards to high-quality, memorable end-of-session slideshows for our final Banquet and year-round marketing efforts. You will also manage the dedicated media email account (mediacoordinator@greenpreserve.org), ensuring timely communication with our community.

More Than Media: The Role Model

You will be an integral part of our staff team, expected to act as a nurturing role model for all campers. You must be prepared to take a leadership role in all staff training and necessary meetings, abide by and enforce all camp rules, and be ready to assist in any capacity needed during camp chores or emergency situations.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Demonstrated expertise in high-volume photography and efficient photo management.
  • Strong strategic understanding of social media content creation and digital storytelling.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, commitment to promptness, and a responsible nature.
  • A collaborative spirit and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
  • The warmth and sensitivity necessary to care for the needs of children and staff in an outdoor education setting.
