Quality Assurance Intern

The Opportunity

Are you ready to make a tangible impact at one of America's fastest-growing e-commerce companies? At Lab Alley, we're building the "Amazon of Chemicals," and we're looking for top talent to drive our continued growth. This role offers the exciting chance to gain invaluable, hands-on experience by drafting and implementing core Quality Assurance and operational documentation, learning how a fast-paced business formalizes its operations, and directly supporting our product quality initiatives. You'll be an integral part of a dynamic team, directly influencing our customer experience and operational excellence. This is a 3-month minimum internship with a potential option for 6 months. If you're eager to learn, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are committed to making things happen, this could be the growth opportunity of a lifetime!

Responsibilities: What You'll Do

We believe in clear expectations, and these are the core responsibilities that will define your success in this role:

  • Draft, implement, and maintain essential QA/QC documentation (protocols, policies, SOPs, manuals) to support consistent quality practices across the organization.
  • Create critical product-related documents including Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) drafts for review by the Chemist.
  • Manage and maintain official records, specifically keeping certification and vendor qualification records up to date and readily accessible.
  • Fulfill document requests by drafting Lab Alley branded documents for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in process improvement by identifying, documenting, and escalating non-conformities (NCs) related to internal process issues.
  • Support hands-on operations by assisting the team with product sampling of chemicals and updating the Internal Management System (IMS) with the Product Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Expertise: What You'll Bring

We're looking for individuals who are not only skilled but also eager to learn real skills to set themselves up for a great career.

Must-Haves:

  • Strong organizational skills and an exceptional ability to maintain documentation accuracy and structure.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong focus on technical and formal writing (SOPs, manuals).
  • Commitment to a 3-month minimum duration for the internship.
  • A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn about business operations and quality documentation outside of an academic setting.
  • Ability to handle and support the sampling of chemicals in a controlled environment (relevant coursework is a plus).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Prior hands-on experience with chemicals, documentation, ecommerce, or lab settings.
  • Familiarity or coursework related to Quality Management Systems (QMS)
