Law Intern
The Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach is recruiting current or rising 3L students for our Summer Internship Program.
Throughout the summer, interns will have the opportunity to assist in prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases at all stages of the judicial process, including the possibility of jury experience. Interns will hone their research and writing skills through responding to motions and preparing memos for attorneys.
Each intern will be assigned to a trial or specialty team and will be assigned an experienced attorney as a mentor. The mentor has an active role in the internship, ensuring the intern understands the subject matter for their cases, is prepared for court, and is maintaining an appropriate caseload. Our office also offers a training program with weekly classes curated to provide interns with the practical knowledge and skills needed to be an effective advocate in court.
