Fanteractive is a sports-orients media website providing fans with a variety of tools to analyze, grade, scout, and interact with sports. It incorporates elements of Bleacher Report, ESPN, Yelp and Facebook into an interactive site that provides fans with a unique engagement experience to manage their interaction and provide their expertise and insights on their favorite sports. 

Fanteractive's Scouting internships will provide students with unique exposure into the exciting world of sports talent evaluation. Here, interns will have a chance to interact with various professionals engaged in the field to gain insight into their methodologies, tendencies, and processes. and receive mentorship into this niche field. Additionally, students will be able to utilize the Fanteractive scouting suite to develop their own portfolios of scouting reports and evaluations that will assist them in seeking opportunities in the field. This role is best suited for those with a passion for the specific sport in which they looking to pursue career opportunities in areas such as coaching, scouting, analytics, player personnel, talent evaluation, etc.

Interns will not only be involved in sport-specific analysis efforts but will also: 

- Participate in various interactions with personnel and user community to drive dialogue 

- Engage in player and team scouting efforts 

- Critique and analyze the feedback of others internally and externally 

- Interview industry practitioners 

- Develop meaningful content

- develop content in relevant subject areas 

Responsibilities

- Develop player scouting reports on players at various levels using standard player evaluation techniques and Fanteractive suite 

- Grade team performance in various games 

- Utilize data to develop predictive analytics on upcoming games 

- Document and grade team and player performance on various benchmarks using Fanteractive suite. 

- Develop content on relevant topics including interviews with industry personnel

- Participate in general business activities to gain understanding of business concepts such as scheduling, project management, business tools, etc.

Requirements

- Superior analytic and writing skills 

- Knowledge and passion for basketball with prior playing or coaching experience preferred. 

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines 

- Knowledge of social media 

- Coursework in communications, journalism, sports management, statistics helpful
