Analytical Laboratory Technician

Primary Purpose and Functions:
Support qualitative and quantitative analysis of food and dietary supplement ingredients and products.
Essential Function and Responsibilities
Prepares chemical reagents needed to perform routine testing.
Conducts inventory and stocking of laboratory supplies.
Aids with chemical tracking and disposal.
Maintains sample retention program and quality document organization.
Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment, glassware, and the overall laboratory environment.
Reviews/issues manufacturing paperwork, analytical department paperwork (data review, SOP updates, etc.), and may be asked to work on other documentation projects and tasks as directed.
Supports the receiving and processing of incoming samples, data logging/filing, organizes and tracks sample testing with contract laboratories, and maintains tracking/metrics for all testing.
Performs basic wet chemistry laboratory analyses, including but not limited to titration, pH, moisture, and water activity.
Performs Allergen ELISA Testing and HPLC.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field or 1 – 2 years of laboratory experience.
The ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize and plan multiple work activities with varying deadlines and complexities.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
A working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and instrumentation used in a chemistry laboratory.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Physical demands and working environment.
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
This role may require some travel (less than 5%)
