Newport NewWorks - Musical Theatre Workshop Internship
Do you love musical theatre? Want to learn more about how a musical is written, rehearsed, and presented in an industry workshop?
Newport NewWorks is looking for a collegiate intern for their upcoming weeklong rehearsal and presentation process of a new musical from January 6th to 13th, 2026. This role is a great opportunity for theatre, musical theatre, or performing arts majors interested in producing, playwriting, composition, artistic administration, company management, and/or dramaturgy.
Gain hands-on experience supporting the Newport NewWorks team through:
- Rehearsal preparation (including printing and organizing scripts, communicating script changes, preparing the rehearsal room each morning for artists, and other tasks as needed)
- Artistic support (keep notes during rehearsal and post-rehearsal meetings)
- Other tasks as needed (catering needs, coffee runs, and other)
The ideal applicant:
- Is pursuing a degree in musical theatre, theatre, composition, artistic administration, stage management, or a related field;
- Has demonstrated interest and/or experience in managing a rehearsal room;
- Has demonstrated interest in new musical theatre or theatre;
- Is responsible and collaborative with a can-do attitude;
- Is excited to learn about the writing, rehearsal, and industry presentation process of a new piece of theatre.
