Event Intern

Please note this role is for currently enrolled students who will be receiving class credit for the internship. Compensation for this position is an end of semester stipend (one-time payment) in the amount of $825.00.

About the Internship

LifeWorks is looking for an Event Intern to join our team in Austin, Texas for the Spring 2026 semester. In this role, you’ll assist with planning and executing donor cultivation events, specifically the Lunch for LifeWorks, LifeWorks’ annual fundraiser. This is a hands-on position focused entirely on project coordination, data management, and operational delivery.

 

This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented individual with professional communication and process management skills.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lunch for LifeWorks Guest Management: Assist with guest communication pre and post event. Manage RSVP process, and provide updates to Lunch Host and internal staff.
  • Vendor and Venue Coordination: Assist with day-to day vendor communication (e.g., venue, catering, A/V) regarding guest counts, floor plans, logistical adjustments.
  • Sponsor Fulfillment: Maintain a checklist of corporate sponsor benefits, working across team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of promise deliverables (e.g., logo placement, ticketing).
  • Day-of-Event Documentation: Compile and finalize all day-of materials that could include run-of-show documents, seating charts, volunteer briefs, and staff assignments.
  • Internal Coordination: Assist in event planning meetings by finalizing agendas, taking notes, creating action items for team members, following up on tasks.
  • General Event Support: Provide logistical support for 2-3 smaller, high priority donor events throughout the semester.

  • High-level training in managing donor data, RSVP tracking, segmentation for large events using professional CRM software. 

 

Who We’re Looking For

 

  • Current student in Hospitality Management, Non-profit Management, Business administration, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Possesses excellent phone and email etiquette, capable of representing LifeWorks professionally when communicating with high-level donors and vendors.
  • Enjoys building and maintaining tracking systems and excels at project coordination.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.   
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.   
  • Self-starter with a collaborative spirit.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn.
