Role Overview

The Social Media & Digital Media Intern will support Friendship Circle’s communications team by capturing, organizing, and creating engaging content that highlights our programs, events, families, and volunteers. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves visual storytelling, social media trends, and bringing moments to life through photo and video.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and video at Friendship Circle programs and events.
  • Edit photos and videos for social platforms (Reels, TikTok, Stories, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Organize and maintain digital media files including photos, video clips, graphics, and past event footage.
  • Label, archive, and categorize media assets for easy access and future use.
  • Assist with planning, drafting, and scheduling weekly social media content.
  • Create short-form videos, highlight reels, volunteer spotlights, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Support live event posting and real-time coverage.
  • Monitor engagement and assist in responding to comments/messages when appropriate.
  • Ensure proper consent and privacy requirements are followed when capturing faces and interactions.

Qualifications

  • Photography and videography experience (school, personal, or professional).
  • Editing ability in tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar.
  • Understanding of short-form storytelling.
  • Comfortable capturing content around children, volunteers, and families in active environments.
  • Creative, dependable, upbeat, and able to multitask during busy programs.
