Digital Marketing and Content Intern
We are seeking just the right person with a passion for digital literacy and experience in and excitement about social media and building community through unique brand content, engagement, partnerships and more. This is a part-time position (10 hours/week), beginning as an internship. Our aim is to move the right person into a paid position on our team.
Passion for and interest in digital literacy and middle school education is a must. As is strong design sensibility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Social Media:
- Manage social channels, ideating and executing initiatives to grow each channel, identifying opportunities to increase engagement, and coming up with ideas for new channels to reach our core audiences of educators and parents.
- Collaborate on our editorial calendar, translating content into relevant weekly and daily messaging.
- Engage with users and followers on our social accounts—respond to incoming comments, DMs, etc. and engage with other accounts.
- Track and aggregate community user numbers across social platforms.
- Conduct industry research to stay on top of relevant topics and trends.
- Graphic design knowledge and experience needed (we mostly use Canva).
- Write copy and curate content with the ability to communicate the tone and personality of our brand.
General:
- Attend monthly Zoom meetings with the team to collaborate and align on expectations, review content, and social calendar, etc.
Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Technologically savvy across several platforms.
- Understand how to track KPIs.
- Time management, high level of organization, and professional communication.
- An eye for clear, high quality visual design.
- Experience using social media management platforms and tools.
Extra Credit!
- Knowledge of and able to manage Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads.
- Website Management/Backend, SEO skills, etc. (we use Wix).
Qualifications
- In possession of or in pursuit of a B.A. in marketing, education, social media management, communications, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in social media, marketing, content development, graphic design and/or copywriting.
- Excellent analytical skills, demonstrated passion for digging into data to test hypotheses and continually improve results.
