Communications Intern
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including graphics, captions, scheduling, and responding to audience engagement.
- Assist with website updates (copy edits, adding program stories, photos, event postings) to ensure fresh and relevant content.
- Write and design communication collateral: newsletters (digital/print), flyers, email campaigns, blog posts highlighting program outcomes and impact.
- Attend and provide media support for events, workshops, community outreach programs (e.g., AmeriCorps Community Cares, building home-owner rehab programs) — including capturing photos/videos, live-posting, post-event wrap-up content.
- Assist with media relations: maintaining a media contact list, drafting press releases, supporting media outreach, tracking coverage.
- Collaborate across internal teams (housing, volunteer services, depot, AmeriCorps) to gather stories, schedule interviews, and build a media pipeline.
- Support brand consistency and ensure all communication materials align with TCAC’s voice, mission, and visual identity.
Learning Outcomes / What You’ll Gain
