Media Director

MEDIA DIRECTOR

Seasonal (May 28, 2025 - July 4, 2025) | On-site | Reports to: Camp Director

This is a six-week seasonal role based on-site at St. Joseph’s Youth Camp, located at 4860 Mormon Lake Road in Mormon Lake, Arizona.

Position Summary: The Media Director is responsible for shaping and sharing the story of St. Joseph’s Youth Camp throughout the summer. This role oversees all photo/video content creation, manages camp social media channels, and produces weekly recap videos that highlight camper experiences. The Media Director works closely with campers, counselors, and staff to authentically capture life at camp while maintaining a positive, professional presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Storytelling
    • Capture daily photos and videos of campers, counselors, and staff across all camp activities.
    • Create weekly “end-of-week” highlight videos for each session.
    • Maintain consistent, engaging visual storytelling aligned with camp mission and values.
    • Orchestrate and stage photo/video opportunities while ensuring natural, high-quality results.
  • Media Management
    • Organize, edit, and maintain all photo/video files in shared storage systems.
    • Maintain and care for all camera and media equipment.
  • Social Media Management
    • Manage Facebook and Instagram accounts throughout the summer.
    • Create daily posts, Reels, and stories that reflect camp culture and camper engagement.
    • Upload curated photo albums to Facebook each session.
    • Monitor and professionally respond to messages, coordinating with staff as needed.
    • Create an end-of-summer video and pre-scheduled holiday/annual fundraising content.
  • Collaboration & Camp Support
    • Work closely with camp departments to coordinate coverage of activities, events, and special moments.
    • Interact positively with youth, staff, parents, and guests.
    • Provide courteous, professional service and uphold all camp policies and procedures.
    • Assist with general camp duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with photography, videography, and/or social media content creation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfort interacting with youth and adults.
  • Ability to work in an overnight camp environment with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to serving others.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ownership of professional-grade camera equipment.
  • Drone license and experience.
