The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake is one of upstate New York’s major cultural institutions and is nestled right in the heart of the Adirondacks. Offering four seasons of outdoor recreation, surrounded by serene landscape, and cozy small towns, the ADKX offers something for everyone who enjoys the serenity of the Adirondack Park. The ADKX is a seasonal museum open from Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous People’s Day.

The Adirondack Experience is looking for a friendly and energetic individual for our seasonal Marketing Assistant position. The Marketing Assistant will act as a brand ambassador for the Adirondack Experience and assist the Marketing department with social media posts and survey collection. The Marketing Assistant will also help distribute brochures and develop positive relationships with lodging, dining, camping, retail, and information center staff to increase awareness of the Adirondack Experience.  This person must be knowledgeable about the region, as well as ADKX hours, admission fees, exhibitions, programs, and events.

This is a part-time position of 3 days per week during the open season of the ADKX (May – October). We are fairly flexible with start and end dates. Additional work in other departments is also available. The hours for position are typically 9:30 – 4:30pm with some weekend work required. Rate of pay is $17.00/hr. A great opportunity for a recent graduate or marketing intern but all are welcome to apply!

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist marketing department with social media content creation.
  • Engage with visitors and collect responses for various visitor surveys.
  • Represent ADKX at regional tabling events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and develop positive relationships with area lodging, dining, camping, retail and information centers to help promote ADKX.
  • Distribute brochures and promotional materials as needed throughout the season.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Have a friendly, confident, and positive attitude.
  • Have excellent customer service skills.
  • Have experience with various social media channels.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
