Personal Injury Paralegal
Plaintiff personal injury law firm seeks a full-time paralegal with strong litigation skills and the ability to manage a busy case load from intake through trial preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and courts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client communication
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients in Spanish and English
- Provide case status updates and assist clients with completing forms and questionnaires
- Obtain and summarize client information related to liability, injuries, and damages
- Discovery & Litigation Support
- Draft and answer discovery (form interrogatories, special interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
- Propound discovery and track responses, follow-ups, and meet-and-confer deadlines
- Organize and summarize discovery responses and document productions
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, witness lists, and trial binders
- Medical Records & Damages
- Request, track, and follow up on medical records and billing
- Organize and summarize medical records and bills
- Maintain up-to-date medical treatment charts and damage summaries
- Pleadings & Case Management
- Draft complaints and basic pleadings (motions, notices, proofs of service, etc.) for attorney review
- File documents with the court (e-filing and physical filing, as applicable)
- Calendar hearings, discovery deadlines, depositions, mediations, and appointments
- Coordinate with process servers, experts, lienholders, and insurance adjusters
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a plaintiff personal injury paralegal (or strong civil litigation experience with PI exposure)
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken) – required
- Strong communication skills and professional phone/email etiquette
- Experience:
- Answering and propounding discovery
- Requesting and tracking medical records and bills
- Calendaring hearings, deadlines, and appointments
- Drafting complaints and basic litigation pleadings
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and case management software (preferred but not required)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
