Operations Manager
Position Overview
Your Personal Gardener & Arborist is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure quality service delivery, and lead worksite execution. This individual will be the first point of contact at the shop each day, responsible for preparing crews, equipment, and work orders, while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and employee performance.
The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership with hands-on capability—balancing planning, oversight, and fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
Open and prepare the shop each morning.
Assess and organize daily work orders, materials, weather conditions, and equipment readiness.
Ensure trucks, trailers, and crews are properly loaded and dispatched.
Oversee and support employees with worksite questions, logistics, or troubleshooting.
Perform multiple worksite checks daily to monitor progress, efficiency, and quality.
Step in on worksites requiring additional manpower or direct leadership.
Run and
Customer & Quality Management
Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining YPGA’s high-quality service standards.
Communicate with clients as needed regarding progress, concerns, or follow-ups.
Address service issues promptly and implement solutions.
Planning & Coordination
Participate in daily and weekly operational planning and scheduling.
Analyze completed work and refine future plans for efficiency and consistency.
Facilitate work crews by delivering materials, equipment, and performing field repairs as needed.
Redeploy to the shop to review and prepare the next day’s work orders.
Leadership & Training
Mentor and train employees at all levels, reinforcing company standards and best practices.
Lead by example on worksites, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Participate in continuing education and industry training to strengthen operational expertise.
Seasonal Operations
Lead and oversee snow removal operations, including planning, logistics, and execution.
Qualifications
Proven experience in operations management, landscaping, arboriculture, or a related field.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Hands-on knowledge of equipment, trucks, trailers, and material handling.
Ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively in dynamic situations.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Commitment to customer service and high-quality results.
Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons (April–November) and snow events.
