Social Media Intern  (Remote)

Part-Time | 10 hours per week

About Pittsburgh Scholar House (PSH):

Pittsburgh Scholar House is a two-generation (2Gen) nonprofit supporting post-secondary scholars and their children in achieving long-term stability, educational success, and economic mobility. We are seeking a creative and reliable Social Media Consultant to strengthen our online presence and help tell our story with clarity, consistency, and impact.

Position Overview:

The Social Media Consultant will manage Pittsburgh Scholar House’s social media channels, develop content, and engage with online audiences to increase visibility and community connection. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, digitally savvy, and passionate about mission-centered storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, curate, and schedule content across PSH’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok).

- Maintain a monthly social media calendar aligned with organizational priorities, events, and campaigns.

- Respond to comments, messages, and engagement in a timely and brand-aligned manner.

- Monitor analytics and provide brief monthly updates on reach and engagement trends.

- Proactively identify opportunities to elevate PSH’s visibility, including hashtags, partnerships, and relevant conversations.

- Ensure all content reflects PSH’s values, voice, and commitment to inclusive storytelling.

Qualifications:

- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts, preferably for a nonprofit or mission-driven brand.

- Strong writing, editing, and visual communication skills.

- Ability to design simple graphics and short-form content (e.g., Canva, CapCut, or similar tools).

- Familiarity with analytics insights and platform trends.

- Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently and meet weekly deadlines.

Work Environment:

• Fully remote, flexible hours.
• Approximately 10 hours per week / 40 hours per month.
