Marketing Intern
As a Marketing Intern at the Rabbit Room, you will be an integral part of communicating our work and mission to the wider community. You will assist with social media, advertising, email marketing, and internal and external communication. Experience in copywriting with basic knowledge of graphic design and customer service is a plus. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, enjoys paying attention to the small details, and is able to work with multiple projects and streams of information simultaneously.
What You’ll Be Doing...
Social Media and Content
- Assist in creating and scheduling weekly social media posts - Intern will be responsible for drafting graphics and copy for certain social media posts.
- Help analyze social media performance and make recommendations - Intern will help research and interpret insights from The Rabbit Room's socials.
- Find pull quotes for social media and other marketing purposes - Intern will read from and document one-sentence quotes from Rabbit Room articles, essays, podcasts, and books.
Email & Newsletter
- Assist in creating the weekly newsletter - Intern will help compile featured content, update graphics and information, and write/proofread copy for the newsletter.
- Assist in managing cross-departmental inquiries from the Rabbit Room community.
Team Collaboration
- Sit-in on select team meetings - Intern will actively listen in on and take notes during select meetings.
- Support planning, brainstorming, and project execution- Intern will play a key role in assisting with all stages of campaigns, series, etc.
Assist in enhancing internal marketing tools and contributing to ongoing goal setting for marketing and social media efforts - Intern will proactively seek ways to enhance The Rabbit Room’s marketing processes and systems, whether that’s organizing, improving, or finding creative ways to support the marketing team, like setting new goals and pitching ideas. They'll keep the heart and mission of The Rabbit Room in mind and make sure their work points toward its mission.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- A background in writing, specifically copywriting or professional writing.
- Experience or classes in marketing and communications, or related field.
- Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with editing and design on Canva, Facebook, and Instagram, and ability/willingness to learn new platforms quickly
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- A desire to go the extra mile to help and achieve success.
- Ability to perceive next steps or tasks.
- Ability to take direction and receive constructive feedback.
- A desire to learn and grow in personal and professional fields.
What to Expect
- Internships are offered on a seasonal basis. This internship will run from early January until early May. Internship may optionally continue into the summer at the discretion of the Rabbit Room staff.
- Rabbit Room office hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Intern will be expected to fulfill a minimum of 8 hours per week, and a maximum of 12 hours per week at $15 per hour.
- Applicant must be located in Nashville. All interns work in person at North Wind Manor in Antioch, Tennessee.
