Examples of Duties
As a Staff Accountant, you will provide support to the Assistant Finance Director and entire Finance team by:
- Assisting with financial audits
- Completing schedules for the annual audits
- Completing schedules for the annual budget and provide support to other departments in the City
- Processing bi-weekly payrolls for both the City and Library, including transferring direct deposits and tax payments to the IRS and preparing annual W-2 ‘s
- Maintaining individual benefits for each employee
- Preparing monthly journal entries
- Providing backup to the alternate Staff Accountant and other department positions as needed including the front counter customer service
- Assisting with special projects within the Finance department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with a major in accounting or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably municipal services
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Exceptional communication with residents and staff
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of BS&A Financial Software is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $77,193-$101,407 DOQ
Insurance: Medical (PPO/HMO), dental, vision
