2026 1L Summer Associate – Minneapolis

Lathrop GPM is proud to partner with Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) to introduce law students to the practice of corporate law in our Minneapolis office. 

Lathrop’s salaried 10-week clerkship program provides 1L students with the opportunity to work on client projects and participate in observational opportunities. Participating law students will spend one "rotation" (typically 3 weeks) working within the in-house CHS legal department and the remainder of the summer at Lathrop GPM receiving work assignments that may come from any of our corporate legal practice groups. The format of the 2026 Summer Associate Program will be hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office required.

The ideal candidate is a first-year law student who has demonstrated excellence in their background and who would bring unique life experiences and perspectives to the firm. All candidates are welcome to apply, including those who are members of historically underrepresented groups in the legal profession, first-generation law students, etc., and have a desire to remain in Minneapolis long term, as well as have an interest in growing their career at Lathrop GPM LLP. A strong academic record, superior work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team setting is preferred. Candidates must be enrolled and in good standing as a first-year law student at an ABA accredited law school.
