MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS INTERN (Full-Time)

The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. One full-time and one part-time position will be considered. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine. 

The Marketing and Communications Intern will support the Marketing team in developing promotional materials, crafting social media content, and building brand awareness for the National Comedy Center. The role also includes assisting in the promotion and publicity for the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.

This internship is on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in writing press releases, promotional copy, and media outreach communications.
  • Track and report on press coverage.
  • Assist in editing and distributing promotional brochures, posters, and other marketing materials.
  • Produce digital content for social media platforms, email campaigns, and websites.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain multimedia marketing assets.
  • Research and identify strategic promotional opportunities to support the National Comedy Center, the Lucy Desi Museum, and Lucille Ball Comedy Festival.
  • Provide photography or videography support during events as needed.
  • Participate in weekly check-in meetings with National Comedy Center and Comedy Festival team meetings and activities. 
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be pursuing a career in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of photo and/or video editing is preferred.
  • Strong writing and communication skills required. 
  • Must have access to personal reliable transportation, as the role involves distributing marketing materials. 
  • Ability to commit to 35-40 hours per week if full-time and 15-20 hours per week if part-time; hours are flexible.
  • All interns must complete at least 4 hours per week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge. 
  • Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor. 
  • Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon acceptance.
