Next-Gen Advisor Internship

Alpha Zero – Next‑Gen Advisor Internship

The First Step in a Multi‑Stage Path Toward Becoming a Full‑Fledged Private Wealth Advisor for Athletes & Entertainers

How to Apply

Resume with cover letter:

samantha@alphazerowealth.com

This is your chance to break into an industry that normally gates talent for years. If you’re ambitious, curious, and ready to be molded into a “next-generation” advisor… we want to meet you.

About Alpha Zero

Alpha Zero is a modern, elite Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm that supports professional athletes, entertainers, founders, and high performers in shaping the identity and purpose behind their wealth.

Our advisors sit at the intersection of money, identity, purpose, and performance — and this internship is the first step in a long‑term pathway to join that world.

About the Internship

This is Stage 1 of the Alpha Zero Intern‑to‑Advisor Pathway, a multi‑step development track that takes select students from:

Intern → Paid Senior-Year Apprentice → Junior Advisor → Private Wealth Advisor

What Makes This Opportunity Different

Most finance internships fall into one of three categories:

1. Shadowing advisors who primarily work with retirees

You sit in on conservative planning conversations that have little relevance to the world you’re entering — and even less relevance to the world of high performers.

2. Generic “financial analyst” internships at banks

You spend the summer building spreadsheets no one reads, running reports no one explains, and learning nothing about how real client relationships actually work.

3. Insurance internships disguised as financial planning

You’re handed a script, encouraged to sell products you don’t understand, and told to pitch your parents, friends, and teammates.

This internship is none of those — and was designed deliberately to be the opposite.

What This Experience Actually Looks Like

Exposure to professional athletes, entertainers, and high-performance earners

Mentorship from the founders of AZ

A real pathway to becoming a Private Wealth Advisor

This is Stage 1 of a multi-year, merit-based pipeline designed to develop you into a licensed, full-time advisor that specializes in our niche market.

Why This Program Exists

Most aspiring advisors never get a real shot.
They graduate into generic sales or support roles, or end up with outdated firms that aren’t built for modern clients.

This pathway is the exact opportunity we wish existed when we were in college — a clear, intentional runway into the world of advising high performers.

Now it does.

Stage 1 — Junior-Year Internship (For Academic Credit)

Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer)
Location: Boca Raton, FL (in-person)
Schedule: 15-20 hours/week
Compensation: School credit

During this stage, you will:

Shadow advisor meetings

Assist in preparing financial plans, investment briefs, and client deliverables

Support market research

Learn CRM, operational workflows, and the systems that keep an RIA running

Participate in weekly workshops

Complete a capstone project

Stage 2 — Senior-Year Apprenticeship (Paid)

Duration: Entire senior year
Compensation: Paid + Series 7 & 65 licensing support

Stage 2 is designed to transition you from learning how advisors think → to actually doing the work under guidance. This is a true apprenticeship: hands-on, structured, and developmental, with increasing responsibility as your skills grow.

You are no longer just observing.
You are participating.

This is where you make the leap from “student learning the industry” → to “emerging advisor who understands how the work is done.”

Stage 3 — Junior Advisor

Compensation: Full-time salary + incentives
Duration: First 12–18 months after graduation

Stage 3 is the transition from apprentice to practitioner.
This is your first year operating as a real advisor inside a modern RIA — responsible for supporting client relationships, contributing to planning, and beginning to own parts of the advisory process under guidance.

You are no longer preparing to be an advisor.
You are one.

Stage 4 — Private Wealth Advisor

Promotion to Stage 4 marks your transition from developing advisor to full practitioner.
This is where you take ownership of client relationships, manage complex planning engagements, contribute meaningfully to the growth of the firm, and embody the identity of an AZ advisor.

You are no longer supervised step-by-step.
You are trusted to lead.

For the Ones Still Reading

Most applicants will skim this posting. A much smaller group will actually read it. We are only hiring from that second group.

Here’s how to quietly signal that you belong at a firm as selective as ours:

End your cover letter with a single standalone line: "I have attention to detail."

We won’t repeat these directions anywhere else. We’ll simply notice who caught them.

Ideal Candidate

This pathway is not designed for the average applicant. It’s built for students who are curious, thoughtful, disciplined, and serious about becoming an advisor — not just getting an internship. The ideal candidate is someone who:

Academic & Intellectual Fit

Is a current Junior majoring in Business, Finance, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Entrepreneurship or a related discipline

Is curious about how money shapes identity, decisions, and long-term outcomes

Communication & Presence

Communicates clearly, professionally, and confidently

Listens well and knows how to read a room

Can translate complex information into simple, actionable insights

Carries themselves with maturity and composure, even when they’re new to a situation

Work Ethic & Mindset

Is detail-oriented and takes pride in producing polished work

Follows through reliably and respects deadlines

Learns quickly, asks thoughtful questions, and adapts without ego

Thrives in environments where expectations are high and feedback is direct

Personality & Drive

Is proactive, resourceful, and not afraid to take initiative

Has genuine interest in high-performance environments (athletes, entertainers, founders)

Enjoys problem-solving and thinking strategically

Understands that this pathway takes time, commitment, and patience
