Animal Advocacy and Outreach Intern

Support Life With Pigs, an animal sanctuary that provides forever homes to farm animals and educates humans about animal welfare. You will focus on expanding Life With Pig's outreach efforts by developing new materials, creating collaboration proposals and researching potential partners, and managing data. You'll also spend time each week providing basic animal care and building relationships. This is a great opportunity to advance your skills in partnership development, marketing, advocacy, and relationship building.
The intern will complete 100 hours over the course of the internship (approximately 8hr/week), with exact schedule to be set between intern and supervisor. In recognition of their work, students will receive $1,500 through Civic & Community Engagement.
Position Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills for various audiences
- Comfort talking with the public
- Experience with graphic design (e.g. Canva)
- Demonstrated interest in animal welfare, vegan ethics, or sustainability advocacy
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and managing multiple priorities
- Ability to receive and incorporate feedback
The intern will also need to be able to provide transportation to/from the sanctuary each week.
