Impact Trading Research Intern

Impact Trading Research Intern

WYDE | The Impact Exchange

Location: Remote (U.S.-based students)
Duration: Winter cohorts

The Opportunity

WYDE is building the world's first Impact Exchange—a public market where every trade automatically funds verified nonprofits. We're not a charity. We're market infrastructure.

Think: What if trading volume generated more funding for childhood cancer research than traditional donations? What if market forces could be redirected toward solving humanity's biggest problems?

That's what we're building. And we need traders who want to be part of it.

What You'll Actually Do

Impact Metrics & Trading Correlation

  • Analyze how trading volume translates to nonprofit funding
  • Build models showing cost-per-impact across different tokens
  • Research donor behavior in trading vs. traditional giving
  • Create impact dashboards for nonprofit partners

Launch Execution

  • Help coordinate token launches reaching millions of potential traders
  • Work directly with Coinbase, Uniswap, and other DeFi infrastructure partners
  • Monitor real-time trading activity and respond to market movements
  • Create trading reports that actually matter (because they show lives changed, not just profits made)

Research & Intelligence

  • Track competitor activity in crypto philanthropy space
  • Analyze creator economy fundraising trends (MrBeast, DrLupo, etc.)
  • Identify new cause categories for token expansion
  • Report on macro crypto market trends affecting WYDE

Why This Beats Other Internships

Real Trading Exposure: You'll work with live markets, real volume, and actual on-chain data. No simulations.

Crypto-Native: Built on Base/Coinbase infrastructure. You'll learn DeFi mechanics that traditional finance internships can't teach.

Measurable Impact: Your trading analysis directly correlates to funding outcomes. You'll see your work translated into grants for St. Jude, Feeding America, Make-A-Wish, and others.

Visibility: Small team means your work matters. You'll present findings directly to leadership and partners.

Network Access: Interface with major nonprofits, crypto VCs, creator economy influencers, and DeFi builders.

Resume Builder: "Launched trading infrastructure that generated $X for verified nonprofits" hits different than "analyzed spreadsheets for megacorp."

Who Should Apply

You're probably a fit if you:

  • Actually trade crypto (we want experience, not just interest)
  • Understand DeFi mechanics (liquidity pools, AMMs, on-chain analytics)
  • Can explain trading concepts to non-traders (you'll work with nonprofit partners)
  • Care about outcomes beyond profit (but you still want to understand markets)
  • Thrive in fast-moving environments (we're launching 18 tokens in 6 months)
  • Want to build something genuinely new (not optimize existing systems)

Ideal Background:

  • Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related major
  • Active on crypto Twitter/Farcaster
  • Experience with DeFi platforms (Uniswap, Coinbase, etc.)
  • Familiarity with on-chain analytics tools (Dune, Nansen, etc.)
  • Understanding of market microstructure

What You'll Learn

Technical Skills:

  • On-chain data analysis and interpretation
  • DeFi market mechanics and liquidity management
  • Token launch coordination and market making
  • Trading dashboard design and KPI tracking
  • Crypto market research and intelligence gathering

Strategic Skills:

  • How markets can serve missions
  • Impact measurement and outcome tracking
  • Multi-stakeholder communication (traders, nonprofits, VCs)
  • Go-to-market strategy for tokenized causes
  • Creator economy partnership dynamics

The Bigger Picture

WYDE sits at the convergence of four massive markets:

  • $592.5B U.S. charitable giving
  • $1.57T global impact investing
  • ~$5T annual DEX trading volume
  • $3.7T U.S. nonprofit sector revenue

We're not competing in one market. We're creating a new category.

You'd join at the ground floor of market infrastructure that could reshape how humanity funds progress. First 100 employees of Google-type opportunity, but for impact.
