Social Media Associate

Social Media Associate 

$20/hour (max wage $9,000-$10,000) 

Typical Work Week—15 Hours 

Maximum Hours/Week- 29 

Position start—ASAP 

Position end—6/30/2025 

(Grant-Funded Position paid for with State of Illinois Supplemental Workforce Development funds) 

 

workNet DuPage is DuPage County’s Workforce Development Division and provides training and employment services for unemployed or underemployed residents of DuPage County.  

 

workNet DuPage is looking for Social Media Associates to work as a content creation and digital media team. The goal of the project is to create popular young adult-oriented social media content that will expose viewers to a range of careers and local employers. The Social Media Associates will be supervised by a Program Coordinator as well as interact with workNet staff including Business Services Rep, Communications/Marketing Coordinator, Career Counselor, and Executive Director.

This is a State grant-funded position ending June 30, 2025.  

 

Description: 

 

Develop a marketing/outreach campaign and fresh social media channels designed to increase young adults’ awareness of what careers actually look like and consist of as well as highlight career opportunities within local companies 

Accompany Business Services Representative to company visits and meetings and create content on-site 

Create polished, catchy final product for posting on social media channels following approval by Communications/Marketing Coordinator 

Develop and achieve performance metrics for reach, impressions, engagement, etc. 

Utilize LinkedIn Learning platform to complete relevant coursework and develop personal skill set 

 

 

Requirements: 

 

Knowledge of social media channels and content development 

Previous experience creating content is a plus 

Ability to interact professionally with a range of project participants including other paid work experience participants, workNet staff, and local employers or professionals 

Dependability- work attendance, showing up on time, general work ethic  

Graphic design experience or interest a plus including Canva. 

A pre-employment background check is required. 

 

The Social Media Associates will work primarily out of the workNet DuPage Career Center- 2525 Cabot Drive, Suite 302, Lisle, IL 60532. They will spend a portion of their time on-site at various locations around DuPage County.  

 

This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. 

 

Transportation assistance will be available if you do not have your own vehicle to get to the office.
