Gould Farm
Roadside Store & Cafe - Server/Barista
Join a dynamic team dedicated to healing, recovery, and reimagining mental health treatment. Reporting to the Roadside Manager (and Assistant Manager in their absence), the Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a welcoming environment where the public can connect with Gould Farm’s mission through great food and community. The Server will take orders, serve food, make espresso drinks and ensure guests have a positive dining experience, all while maintaining a clean and organized dining area. This position supports the values of Gould Farm as outlined in the Mission Statement and involves being a contributing member of the community.
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Customer Service
- Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing menus and taking orders accurately.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Be knowledgeable about the menu, including daily specials, and be able to answer questions and make recommendations.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Process customer payments, operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, and manage cash and credit transactions with accuracy.
- Address customer concerns or complaints promptly, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues with care and professionalism.
Restaurant Operations
- Set up dining areas before service, ensuring tables are clean and properly set.
- Clear and clean tables after guests have finished dining, resetting for the next guests.
- Assist with basic food prep, drink preparation, and restocking supplies during service.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including floors, tables, and service stations.
- Assist with side work such as folding napkins, and stocking condiments and service items.
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, restock supplies, and support daily café operations as needed.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure food is served promptly and to the guests' satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and management to provide seamless service.
- Support the overall operations of the café by assisting in other areas as needed during busy periods.
Other Responsibilities
- Create and support a work environment that is empowering for guests, volunteers, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with staff and guests to ensure an environment where all participants' strengths, talents, and voices are recognized.
- Meet regularly with the Manager or Assistant Manager for ongoing supervision to support professional growth and competency.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food service or customer service preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and assist in various tasks as needed.

Work Schedule:
Wednesday – Saturday (Hours TBD, approximately 7:30am to 3pm)
Compensation:
Hourly rate starts at $18 per hour.
