Contracts Specialist

Location: Tempe, Arizona

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a Contracts Specialist to prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contracts in alignment with organizational objectives, company policies, and legal requirements. This role is critical in minimizing risk, supporting business transactions, and ensuring contractual compliance with both internal standards and external obligations.

The Contracts Specialist will act as a liaison with contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring contracts are effectively structured, monitored, and administered. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and eager to grow in the field of contract management, with a particular focus on supporting large-scale energy, construction, or infrastructure projects. This role is part of a global team working toward common goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility and clear accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with contractors regarding contractual matters.
  • Monitor existing contracts for compliance with terms, conditions, and deadlines.
  • Negotiate, establish, and administer subcontract service agreements.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and recommend amendments, extensions, or remedial actions as necessary.
  • Analyze and approve or reject requests for deviations from contract specifications, delivery schedules, or pricing.
  • Review financial reports, price proposals, and contract provisions to ensure cost efficiency and value.
  • Coordinate acquisition alternatives and procurement strategies to optimize outcomes.
  • Support procurement processes, ensuring all procedural requirements and timelines are met.
  • Maintain detailed records of contracts, amendments, and performance evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline (required).
  • Valid driver’s license (required).

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in contract negotiation and administration (required).
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management (required).
  • Familiarity with solar, power generation, construction, or utility-scale projects (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong understanding of procurement procedures, compliance standards, and contract management practices.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
