Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking a Technology Summer Legal Assistant to join their Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology practice in Philadelphia through Project Onramp. This is a paid, hybrid internship for Summer 2026.
This role supports attorneys and patent agents who work on cutting-edge technologies and innovations. Interns will assist with patent filings and related research, gaining exposure to the intersection of law, technology, and intellectual property.
While the firm understands that undergraduate students are still building their experience, they are looking for candidates whose educational background and interests align with their technology-focused IP work.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A major in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- Coursework or experience related to software development, AI, machine learning, or other areas of computer or mechanical systems
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, research, writing, and communication skills
- An interest in how technology innovations are protected and commercialized (no legal background required)
Examples of the kinds of technology Morgan Lewis’ IP practice works with include:
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Computer-implemented systems, cloud-based applications, and software architecture
- Medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health technologies
- Mechanical and electromechanical systems such as propulsion, optics, and materials
