Editorial Intern

Northern Virginia Magazine is a monthly regional glossy magazine that reaches thousands of residents from Alexandria and Arlington to Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and beyond through our print and digital platforms. As a lifestyle publication, we regularly cover all things NoVA across a wide span of categories, including food, things to do, and news.

The editorial intern will get the opportunity to report and write for the website and print magazine, compile research, prepare articles for digital publication, and pitch story ideas. The intern may also produce weekly newsletters and assist with other editorial tasks.

Applicants must be in at least their junior year of college. Journalism, English, and Communications majors and minors are encouraged to apply, and we will also take experience with college publications and other media experience into account. Experience with AP Style, Adobe products, and WordPress is a plus.

This is a paid, in-person internship. We request a minimum of 16 hours per week, with a maximum of 25 hours per week. We will work with all interns to ensure they receive college credit, but credit is not required. Candidates will need reliable transportation to our office in Chantilly and to get around the Northern Virginia region.

Candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and two to three writing samples.
