Summary
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of routine accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. This includes processing transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses a foundational understanding of accounting principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Review and process invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment.
- Prepare and process customer invoices and record payments.
- Communicate with customers regarding invoicing and payment terms.

Reconciliations:
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Perform credit card reconciliations

Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Accurately input financial data into the accounting system (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing of financial documents and records.
- Review credit card transactions and ensure accurate recording.

Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries as required.

Support:
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Support the accounting department with other administrative and clerical tasks.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; OR
- A minimum of one (1) year of proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data management and analysis.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills (A Plus):
- Previous hands-on experience with QuickBooks (desktop or online) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Google Workspace environment, including Google Docs, and Drive, for collaborative document and data management.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $58,000-65,000 based on experience
