Director, Business and Industry Partnerships

ABOUT
The Director of Business and Industry Partnerships will work closely with leaders from the School of Skilled Trades and Continuing Studies, as well as regional business and industry leaders, to develop workforce training and partnership opportunities. This role is crucial for developing and delivering high-demand training programs that align with workforce needs. In this position, the director will ensure exceptional customer experiences throughout all stages of engagement with stakeholders. The director will oversee the planning and implementation of workforce development initiatives, which include both on-campus and off-site training programs, workshops, and post-training evaluations, with a strong focus on continuous improvement activities to enhance program effectiveness. Additionally, the director will assist in the development of marketing initiatives and guide business and industry sales strategies to effectively promote training programs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide sales leadership by maintaining a database of qualified prospects, systematically calling on those prospects and overseeing the sales activities of a program development manager
- Performs workforce market assessments through surveys, face-to-face meetings, and data trend analysis. Collaborates with internal and external leaders and subject matter experts to develop programs that address the market
- Markets portfolio of professional development programs to area businesses and industries. Responsible for building sales networks and utilizing those networks to meet profit and loss goals
- Responsible for maintaining accountability and sound fiscal management
- Recommends for hire, supervises, trains, and evaluates the business and industry partnership staff and instructors
- Supports the Dean of the School of Skilled Trades and Continuing Studies and TJC while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver results
- Provide hands-on leadership in all areas of Workforce Training and Partnerships, including sales, marketing, branding, customized training, grant-based training, and post-engagement service and support
Secondary Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and effective reporting tools. Will provide routine and on-demand quantitative and qualitative data as needed to enhance a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Conducts gap analyses of our business and industry marketing practices. Recommends solutions to close gaps

WHO YOU ARE
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Required Experience
Five years of sales, program development, and/or relationship management experience, with at least three years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Education
Master’s Degree in a related field
Preferred Experience
Seven or more years of sales experience, program management, and/or relationship management experience with at least five years of supervisory experience
Additional Job Specific Requirements
- Consultative selling and leading by example in a sales environment
- Working knowledge of CRM databases, Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to generate and sustain leads, take initiative with key tasks and follow-through with detailed reporting requirements
- Possesses a clear vision of goals, strategic planning and tactical decision-making
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving the vision and mission of TJC
