Creative Marketing x Social Media Intern

Downtown Wealth Studios (DTWN)

Location: Remote, but bonus points if you are in or around NYC
Type: Part-time Internship (Immediate start with option for Summer full-time role)

About DTWN

We’re an independent wealth management firm built for the modern era. Yes, we manage money. No, we don’t look, sound, or behave like a traditional wealth-management firm. DTWN blends finance with a creative, design-driven identity inspired by SoHo, Wynwood, and the cultural districts we love.

We’re building a brand that feels more like a creative house than a financial institution - and our marketing reflects that. This is a place where storytelling, visuals, personality, and original thinking matter just as much as investment expertise. We take our inspiration from artists rather than Wall Street.

The Role

We’re growing fast and are looking for a marketing and social media intern who wants to help shape the brand of a growing firm and someone who desires real creative freedom. You’ll help us tell stories, bring ideas to life, and craft content that grows awareness of DTWN, our team, and our mission. This is a chance to build a portfolio with work that actually gets published and used - not “intern projects” that collect dust.

If you want a role where you are an integral part of the ideating and creative process, not just following instructions, this is for you.

Logistically, we will figure out how many hours and what cadence works best for you and us. But the more you can pour into this, the more you will get out!

What You’ll Work On

  • Create original content for social (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) - video, graphics, short-form storytelling, and other creative formats
  • Brainstorm and pitch concepts for campaigns, series, or one-offs
  • Support brand initiatives that highlight our team, our advisors, and our creative approach to wealth management
  • Repurpose video/podcast clips into short-form content
  • Assist with photo/video shoots when needed
  • Draft caption ideas and micro-stories that express DTWN’s tone and point of view
  • Help maintain a consistent visual identity that feels modern, artistic, and distinct from the industry
  • Track trends and offer recommendations for what we should experiment with
  • Collaborate directly with leadership (you’ll actually influence real decisions)
  • Bonus points if you’re interested in participating in the content yourself (i.e. leveraging your own face and voice in some of the content) – this is NOT a requirement

What Makes This Different

Most wealth-management content looks exactly the same. Ours won’t.
We want someone who’s excited to help break that mold and make finance feel human, creative, and culturally relevant. You’ll have wide creative latitude, and we’ll support bold ideas.

Who You Are

  • Have a robust portfolio including creative video + photo / designs (or are a successful content creator yourself)
  • A student or recent grad in marketing, design, communications, film, or similar fields
  • Strong eye for visuals and storytelling
  • Comfortable creating content on your phone, laptop, camera work, and related needs
  • Interested in branding and how ideas spread
  • Excited to work with a team that values creativity as much as financial expertise
  • Curious, self-directed, and willing to try things

What You’ll Gain

  • Published work you can showcase in your portfolio
  • Experience shaping the marketing of a fast-growing firm
  • Real autonomy to make things, not just assist
  • A front-row seat to how a challenger brand grows in a legacy-driven industry
  • Mentorship from people who value both creativity and business thinking
