Position Summary:
The Purchasing Intern will support the Procurement and Supply Chain team in sourcing materials, managing supplier communications, and improving purchasing processes. This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world supply chain operations within the water treatment equipment manufacturing industry, including vendor management, cost analysis, and ERP system use.
We are searching for an intern that would be willing to start before Summer 2026. This would be a part time role (approximately 30 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in obtaining and evaluating supplier quotations for fabricated parts, raw materials, and components.
· Support creation and maintenance of purchase orders life cycle within the ERP system.
· Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
· Conduct supplier research and benchmarking for price, quality, and lead time.
· Help maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
· Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to clarify technical specifications and delivery needs.
· Analyze material cost data to support sourcing decisions and cost-saving initiatives.
· Participate in vendor performance reviews and help develop supplier scorecards.
· Assist in standardizing and improving purchasing workflows and documentation.

Qualifications:
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
· Strong organizational and analytical skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Interest in manufacturing, engineering, or sustainability fields preferred.
· Experience with ERP systems (such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.
