Accounting Intern
POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Intern is responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions of the Summer Work Experience Program. The Accounting Intern is diligent in maintaining meticulous documentation and ensures accuracy through constant checks and balances in all duties assigned.
EDUCATION: High School education required. Preferably currently enrolled in an accounting or finance degree program
EXPERIENCE: Proven success in previous acceptable working environments
COMPUTER SKILLS: QuickBooks, Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge of Excel.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: N/A
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must pass background check, pre-employment screening, and drug test.
Must be able and willing to be available as a substitute Job Coach in the field
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Understanding of general ledger and accounting processes.
Ability to effectively multitask; strong follow through & time management skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Pull new hire information from Set-works
Enter new hires information including tax withholdings in Quickbooks
Accounts receivable invoicing, and other required reporting.
General ledger journal entry preparation and posting.
File maintenance.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles.
Contribute to maintenance of accounting data and provide support as needed to Director of Finance.
Respond to all external and internal inquiries, effective communication.
Occasional Job Coaching at summer sites as needed
