Bookkeeper – Law Firm (Phoenix, AZ)

About Us:
We are a well-established Phoenix law firm seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and experienced in law-firm or professional-services accounting. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the daily financial operations of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger & Financial Management
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger with a high degree of accuracy
- Prepare monthly financial reports, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process vendor invoices, check runs, and expense reimbursements
- Manage billing cycles, including generating and sending invoices
- Track and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Maintain organized documentation for all AP/AR transactions
Law Firm Billing (Leeds Billing)
- Prepare and process Leeds billing (LEDES format) for applicable clients
- Review time entries for accuracy and compliance with client guidelines
- Resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with attorneys and staff
Additional Duties
- Assist with trust account reconciliation and compliance
- Support audit requests and coordinate with external accountants as needed
- Collaborate with firm leadership to improve accounting workflows and processes
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (law firm experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing
- Experience with LEDES billing formats is highly desirable
- Knowledge of PC Law software is helpful, but not required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
