SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.
Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:
- Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
- Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
- Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
- Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
- Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Claims team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
• Demonstrate foundational knowledge of claims handling and develops proficiency in performing standard tasks
• Apply core concepts under supervision while building confidence and expertise in delivering high-quality claim outcomes
• Contributes to a fair, timely, and efficient resolution process, supporting the organization’s commitment to service excellence
• Handles assignments of minimal to moderate complexity within defined limits of authority
• Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the investigation and resolution of claims
• Possesses basic functional knowledge and skills acquired through formal study and/or on-the-job development
• Analyzes, evaluates, and negotiates claims of varying complexity, ensuring compliance with policy terms and legal requirements
• Identifies potentially suspicious or fraudulent claims and escalates appropriately
• Participates in a structured training program to support professional development
• May collaborate with the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to resolve complex or questionable claims

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
- Ability to commit to a full time 10-week internship program
- Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to collaborate with peers to ensure processes are efficient
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking/problem solving skills and analytical mindset
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
