Modeling the Dynamics of Biological Systems REU Summer 2026
The Modeling the Dynamics of Biological Systems Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at NC State University is now accepting applications for the summer of 2026!
Students will spend 10 weeks performing novel mentored research, developing as professionals, and working on scientific communication.
We invite rising sophomore through senior undergraduates with a demonstrated interest in quantitative imaging research to apply. We particularly encourage applications from institutions that do not have on-campus research opportunities in this area.

Stipends, room, board, travel expenses, and ASL interpretation are provided.
- Stipend: $6250 for the 10-week session
- Room and board: Apartment-style accommodations on campus and $140 per week food allowance
- Travel expenses: Round-trip air travel or mileage-based reimbursement will be provided to participants
- ASL interpretation: Professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available for group activities and on a limited basis within the research lab setting.
