Applied Scientist Intern

Job Type:
Internship (full-time, 3–6 months). You will help design and develop end-to-end science-driven systems that support Amazon’s scientific & technical efforts; The role offers hands-on experience building tools, models, and algorithms that can influence large-scale products and research across Amazon.
Duties:
- Design and develop end-to-end systems that support science-driven projects.
- Work with Amazon scientists and other interns to build new models, algorithms, or technical solutions.
- Write technical white papers and help create project roadmaps;
- Support the deployment of research solutions into production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex research and business problems;
- Engage in tasks such as experimental design, algorithm development, evaluations, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or similar fields.
- Programming experience in Python, C++, Java, or related languages;
- Strong interest or experience in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, optimization, computer vision, robotics, quantum computing, automated reasoning, or formal methods.
- Preferred candidates have experience designing experiments, analyzing data, implementing algorithms, or publishing in peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
