Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid role, three days in office per week; on-site parking available)

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Affirmative Immigration Attorney to join our thriving legal team in our Newark, New Jersey office. The Affirmative Immigration Attorney will work on cases including asylum, VAWA, U Visas, T Visas, naturalization, adjustments of status, and waivers. This role offers the opportunity to specialize in areas such as Affirmative Immigration, Defensive Immigration, Employment-Based Immigration, Litigation, or Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) cases. 

This is a full-time position based in Newark, NJ, with the expectation of on-site presence three days a week.

As a valued member of our firm, you will:
 

  • Manage your own caseload while meeting case progression benchmarks.
  • Conduct client consultations for prospective new cases.
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and fellow attorneys to ensure seamless case handling.
  • Participate in firm committees under the guidance of firm partners, contributing to the firm's operations and success.

Key Job Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis for immigration law cases.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
  • Provide effective guidance and support to clients throughout the immigration process.
  • Lead and manage multiple case files with strong organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance legal strategies and case outcomes.
  • Stay updated on evolving immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • Active bar membership.
  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough legal research using legal platforms.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages.
  • Additional experience in specific immigration law specialties or areas of practice.
