Position Summary

The Part-Time Purchasing Assistant will support the Buyer and Purchasing team in managing purchase orders, coordinating inventory, and maintaining data accuracy across systems such as Great Plains, Power BI, and our eCommerce platforms. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of vendor, cost, and inventory information while providing real-world exposure to business operations and accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Order Support

· Verify and input purchase orders into Great Plains and related systems.

· Review PO details for accuracy and communicate with vendors or internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

· Assist the Buyer with vendor communication and delivery timelines.

· Coordinate with the Receiving Team to clarify PO allocation questions.

Inventory & Reporting

· Review Receiving Reports (Power BI) to confirm inventory accuracy.

· Support monthly Canada Receiving Reports by identifying new or overrun items to be created or updated on the site.

· Assist with periodic inventory audits and ensure product data accuracy.

· Help maintain active/out-of-stock reports and remove discontinued products as needed.

Accounting & System Coordination

· Assist with creating custom Retail Store items and POs in Great Plains for Accounting

· Support cost adjustments and data corrections as requested.

· Monitor and resolve Dynamics/DEO link errors impacting orders or inventory.

· Help maintain synchronization between Great Plains, Power BI, and eCommerce systems.

Qualifications

· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.

· Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel; exposure to Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or Power BI is a plus.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

· Reliable, organized, and eager to learn in a professional environment.

Schedule & Compensation

· Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week.
