Supply Chain Data Intern

Summary

Supports the Supply Chain and Operations teams in improving the stock level update process through standardization, automation, and data-driven analysis. This internship provides hands-on experience in process improvement, data analytics, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the current process for updating inventory stock levels across all manufactured components.
  • Define and document standardized procedures for stock level reviews and updates.
  • Develop or enhance automated tools for data validation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process improvements and automation solutions.
  • Assist in testing, verifying, and documenting new procedures and tools.
  • Support approval and rollout of new standardized processes across departments.
  • Work on miscellaneous supply chain or process improvement projects as assigned.
  • Analyze inventory performance metrics to identify opportunities for accuracy and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company data governance, quality, and operational standards.
  • Uphold Positronic’s standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or Statistics/Applied Mathematics or related field.

Physical

  • Regular walking, standing, sitting, climbing, bending, and crouching.
  • May lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Use of hand tools, technical equipment, and standard office technology.

Internship Time

This internship will take place in 2026 from May 18th to August 7th.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a production and office environment with exposure to machinery, moderate noise, and standard shop materials.

Competencies

Knowledge

  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Familiarity with data analysis techniques and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of process standardization and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Awareness of database structures and data validation methods.
  • Understanding of ERP or MRP systems used in manufacturing environments.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for documenting processes and presenting findings.
  • Ability to interpret and visualize data to support decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional departments.
