đź’° Compensation: Estimated $2,000 + travel stipend, all-expenses-paid housing, staff uniforms, and meals provided
🏕 Work Type: On-site, full-time (seasonal internship)

Who We Are

Camp Weequahic is a premier summer camp in Northeastern Pennsylvania dedicated to creating meaningful recreational experiences for children through sports, outdoor adventure, creativity, and connection.

Our Parks & Recreation Internship is designed to immerse students in the planning, implementation, and management of recreational programs within a vibrant, real-world environment. You’ll gain practical skills in program development, facility operations, leadership, and community engagement — preparing you for a future in parks and recreation, community programming, or youth development.

Structured practicum opportunities are also available for students seeking academic credit and applied learning hours.

What You’ll Do

  • As a Parks & Recreation Intern / Practicum Student, you’ll:
  • Plan, organize, and lead recreational programs and activities for youth ages 7–16
  • Assist with daily operations of camp facilities and activity areas
  • Collaborate with recreation staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
  • Apply principles of parks and recreation management, risk assessment, and program evaluation
  • Support community-building events, staff training sessions, and end-of-session celebrations
  • Reflect weekly on your learning outcomes and professional development goals
  • Students completing this internship for credit can coordinate with their universities to align hours, learning objectives, and assessments with academic requirements.
