BSR is part of Totalis Program Underwriters, a subsidiary of NFP and Aon.
We are currently taking applications for our 2026 Summer Internship program in which interns will support business units in tasks such as underwriting analysis, endorsement processing, data collection / management, and policy issuance. Throughout the summer, interns will be given exposure to all BSR programs providing a robust view of this unique sector of the insurance industry.
The internship timeline is flexible, but generally runs from the end of May to the beginning of August. There is also potential for the internship to extend into part-time positions during the fall / spring semesters.
In this position you will support the following business functions:
- Review applications and perform initial underwriting
- Identifying and gathering relevant account information for new business and renewal policy activity
- Participate with underwriters in activities that support marketing and underwriting decisions that are consistent with growth and retention goals
- Process endorsements, policy changes, and account renewals
- Assess clients’ current insurance placements for strengths and deficiencies
- Work directly with specialized insurance brokers to develop business relationships
- Scheduling inspections and monitoring for compliance with recommendations
- Manage account documentation
Education and Experience:
- Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor's Degree (Risk Management & Insurance degree preferred)
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work effectively in an early stage, high growth environment
- Strong problem-solving, math and analytical skills
- Desire to learn quickly in a constantly-evolving environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Excel / Google Workspace
