Bulk Operations and Services Trainee (Northeast Region)
As a qualification for this position, the Bulk Operations & Services Trainee will be placed in and must successfully complete a comprehensive training program that will give them a working knowledge of our industry, our customers and our organization. In addition, this program is designed around operations and professional development training to ensure that, once completed, the Trainee will be able to meet the demanding challenges of this position. Upon completion, the Trainee will be required to meet and exceed both corporate and regional objectives for streamlining logistics, optimization of resources, and identify efficiencies.
- Help to oversee the creation of preventative maintenance plans and job plans to ensure that all customers and locations are up to date on all preventative maintenance. Ensures minimal production disruption due to faulty or damaged equipment.
- Collaborates with customers and local Airgas managers, area operations managers to schedule and complete needed maintenance using Airgas staff and or approved third party vendors.
- Ability to evaluate, build, and maintain critical parts list for customers and ensure sites are stocking correct equipment and parts. Will help partner with customers to purchase parts.
- Help track and approve maintenance costs across the entire region
- Help work with sites to manage and forecast maintenance costs
- Will be a resource for customers with technical/repair questions
- Will be a back-up for the Field Service Technicians on all plant cryo equipment issues
- Will help perform preventative maintenance on critical components including pumps, hoses, quick connects and manifolds
- Assist in design and coordination of bulk gas supply systems based on customer parameters - including creation of site and equipment drawings and onsite support
- Will audit existing customer sites to validate installations per process drawings
- Will assist with tracking and implementation of strategic engineering initiatives throughout the region
- Ability to have open and honest communication with all Airgas associates
- Maintains focus on safety in the workplace by complying with company safety procedures and practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably related to Business, Engineering, or Chemistry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational, time management skills; goal oriented, self-motivated, and strong leadership skills. Self-starter, self-motivated, independent, well-organized with attention to detail. Accepts cultural diversity and establishes effective working relationships.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage.
