Position Overview
The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for assisting in the administration of medications and supporting the nursing team to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care. This role offers hands-on clinical experience in medication management, geriatric care, and health documentation—ideal for students pursuing careers in medicine, nursing, physician assistant studies, or pharmacology.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately administer prescribed medications under supervision and in accordance with state regulations and facility policy
Maintain detailed medication records and documentation of administration and resident responses
Observe, report, and record changes in residents’ condition to licensed nurses
Ensure medication carts and storage areas remain organized, secure, and compliant with regulations
Assist residents with basic health needs and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
Support coordination with nursing, pharmacy, and wellness teams
Uphold resident dignity, privacy, and safety at all times

Qualifications
Enrolled in or completed coursework in Health Science, Biology, Nursing, or related field
Must complete Medication Technician training and certification (provided by the facility)

Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
Prior healthcare or caregiving experience a plus (but not required)
Schedule & Pay
8 hour shifts
Morning, evening, and weekend shifts available
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and certification level
